2009 | 152cm x 85cm | Woven Tapestry. Cotton warp, dyed wool and linen weft.

Elegy - the language of birds. I used mud and sticks to create gestural drawings of birds in flight on the West Dean estate. Elegy represents the journey over the landscape and through life. It shows both fragility and strength. Loss accompanies us as we move forward, changed but intact. Elegy was woven as my final piece for my Professional Development Diploma (PDD) in Visual Arts at West Dean College.
