2009 | 41cm x 11cm | Woven Tapestry. Cotton warp. Linen, wool and dip-dyed silk weft.

This is a celebration of women's strength and resilience and the ability to “bounce back”. GAEA. is the Greek goddess who personifies the earth. I chose the spelling GAIA because I had an interest in the Gaia hypothesis. It proposes that the planet earth is a self-regulating organism that maintains, amongst other things, an equilibrium and balance of the gases in its atmosphere. Private collection.
