2018 | 15cm x 209cm | Woven Tapestry. A pure white bleached cotton warp is woven with linen, rayon and metallic sari threads.
100 cm of bound and beaded unwoven warp coils on the floor under the weaving. Gusts of Gold is inspired by Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie no 1. The title comes from "Les Antiques" by J P Contamine de Latour, a Spanish contemporary of Satie: Slanting and shadow-cutting a bursting stream Trickled in gusts of gold on the shiny flagstone Where the amber atoms in the fire gleaming Mingled their sarabande with the gymnopaedia
