Inspired by Piero della Francesca's meeting between Sheba and Solomon. I imagined "Meeting" as a rediscovered medieval portrait fragment, salvaged and saved to preserve this woman’s image. I imagined new colours and fresh marks to bring alive a face from the past into the future. Despite the lowered eyes and supplicant posture, I feel a sense of fun and mischief about this more modern face.
