My tapestry, Breathe, has been selected for the first GIANT Galley Open exhibition, The Environment. Selection was made by a presentation of the work to a trio of judges at the GIANT Gallery space: Artist and Curator, Stuart Semple, Creative Director Ben Friend and Gallery Manager Verity Slade. It was an amazing experience to be able to talk about my tapestry to such an artistic panel. I presented the work by title, and explained what it was about from a visual and artistic perspective and my inspiration. I took great pleasure in explaining the process of creating and making and the joy of yarns and how they work differently to pigments. They loved the image, and they now know about tapestry weaving (a bit).
The exhibition opens on 24 November 2023 and closes on 20 January 2024. The address is:
